With one weekend under our belt and a couple more to go, Oktoberfest is in bloom at Plattduetsche Park! From now until October 15, we’ll be hosting many different bands, dancing groups, demonstrations and games, as well as offering all your favorite classic German food and drinks. So, if you’re looking for a traditional Bavarian festival this month, the Plattduetsche Biergarten is the place for you!
A Complete Guide to Oktoberfest 2021 at Plattduetsche from October 1-15
In 1810, there was a large, elaborate wedding for Crown Prince Ludwig of Bavarian and Princess Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen in Munich. With horse racing, amusements and plenty of drinking, these grand nuptials eventually turned into an annual festival that you might know as simply “Oktoberfest.” And the rest, as they say, is history.
Well, with Oktoberfest becoming a global institution, it’s no surprise that, as LI’s premier destination for all things German-American culture and heritage, we’d host our own version of the festival.
We have food, beers, music, bands, dancing and much more! So, be sure to come on down and experience an authentic Bavarian Oktoberfest without visiting Munich! And best of all, admission is free!
